Position Overview:

The Regional Sales Manager role reports to and works in partnership with the Director of Sales West to support business development within the assigned sales geography (Southwest). Generally, the Regional Sales Manager builds relationships and brand awareness with selling partners and retailers across the assigned business. Works to maximize all current selling partner work with processes and tools to achieve established sales objectives and goals. Identifying needs and opportunities and developing additional strategic tools and initiatives to drive the business in partnership with the Director of Sales and the full Grocery Sales Team. Regularly works in the field to drive results, monitor retail conditions, and bring the right focus to selling partners. Always holding selling partners accountable to goals established and monitored via tracking tools in partnership with sales lead and internal counterparts. Manages or participates in selling initiatives, retail blitzes, and trade shows used to drive regional business. Manages all business-related sales expenses and any assigned selling initiative budgets. Manage and forecast business with accuracy and resolve to drive profitability and constant improvement. The ideal candidate will be a driven self-starter and have a strategic approach to the business with a solution-oriented approach.

Account Development and Management

  • Focused on the development of customers in the assigned territory.
  • Prioritizing time as appropriate to build key account business smartly.
  • Building Suja Life brand awareness and loyalty within the territory’s customer base.
  • Added direct account management responsibilities as appropriate.
  • Attainment of assigned Net Sales and profitability targets for the western sales team.

Selling Partner Support, Education and Monitoring for Accountability

Selling Initiatives Management and Execution Monitoring to Drive Regional Business

  • Generally working to build Suja brand and innovation awareness and sales within assigned territory.
  • Conducts focus and new item launch training, sell-in support, and blitzes.
  • Focused on fieldwork with selling partners.
  • Market tours.
  • Sell-in support at retail.
  • Attends and actively participates in National and Regional trade shows and events as assigned.
  • Broker or Distributor incentive program management.

Selling Tools Monitoring and Refinement

  • Solely responsible for monitoring merchandising team trackers and tools (Suja/Broker Scorecard), reports progress to Suja Sales Team and leverages data points for better results.
  • Works to review established distribution tracking tools with Director of Sales for corrective action or opportunity with selling partners.
  • Partners with Director of Sales, Sales Planning Manager, and Category Management team to refine or develop any tracking tools being used.
  • Responsible for gathering, sharing, and tracking of competitive activity as identified as valuable by regional and greater sales organization.

Ongoing Business Forecasting and Related Reporting

  • Actively participate in monthly and yearly budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Drive rigor in the forecasting process and tracking accuracy for owned businesses.
  • Create change related to profitability initiatives that will result in overall business health and ultimate contribution to the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Background in one of these fields critical: Sales/Marketing.
  • Knowledge of US Retail Landscape– Natural/Specialty/Grocery/Mass/Club.
  • Experience with various routes to market key - Direct/DSD/ Distributor.
  • Significant travel and participation in market tours, trade shows, sales meetings, and sales partner training are required.
  • Travel budget and expense management.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and organizational skills.
  • People management skills are a plus.
  • Ability to present, train, and communicate strategic initiatives (product launch, trade support. negotiation, category/shelf management, etc.).
  • Key business management programs and data platform/portal experience a must.
  • Bachelor-level studies.
  • +5 years of experience within desired fields.
